A day in the life
You start your morning reviewing the CMMS backlog and lining up preventive, corrective, and urgent tasks for your team. A line goes down—within minutes you’re coordinating triage, guiding techs through PLC/VFD diagnostics, and prioritizing the critical path to reduce downtime. By midday, you’re coaching a new technician on safe LOTO procedures, confirming parts availability, and meeting a vendor to scope an equipment install. In the afternoon, you walk the floor, close out work orders, and update predictive maintenance plans based on root cause findings from the week.
What you’ll lead
• Own day-to-day maintenance operations across all shifts: preventive, corrective, and emergency repairs.
• Build and manage the maintenance schedule through the work order system (CMMS).
• Plan/lead plant shutdowns, equipment installs, and vendor/contractor activities.
• Train and upskill maintenance personnel to expand troubleshooting depth and safety excellence.
• Ensure compliance with LOTO and all company safety policies.
• Direct breakdown response and sequence critical repairs to minimize downtime.
• Track spare parts and consumables to keep essential inventory on hand.
• Connect to PLCs and VFDs via laptop software to identify faults, monitor I/O, and support production troubleshooting.
• Conduct root cause analyses on recurring mechanical and electrical issues.
• Support welding, fabrication, and equipment modifications when needed.
• Manage onsite contractors, vendors, and service providers.
• Strengthen preventive and predictive maintenance procedures.
What you bring
• 5+ years in heavy industrial maintenance.
• 2+ years leading or supervising maintenance teams (preferred).
• Proven troubleshooting on automated manufacturing systems—both mechanical and electrical.
• Welding and fabrication experience.
• Industrial electrical exposure with PLCs and plant automation (preferred).
• Ability to support multiple shifts.
• Comfort with Microsoft Office, CMMS, and ERP platforms.
• Clear communication, strong organization, and hands-on leadership.
