We are seeking a warm, organized, and collaborative Afterschool Director to lead our program with professionalism, creativity, and a deep respect for the Montessori approach. Position Overview The Afterschool Director oversees all aspects of the school’s aftercare program, ensuring a safe, enriching, and developmentally appropriate environment for children ages 6 weeks -12 years. This role includes program planning, staff supervision, family communication, and daily operational management. Key Responsibilities Implement a developmentally appropriate afterschool curriculum that aligns with Montessori principles Supervise, mentor, and schedule afterschool staff Ensure the safety, well-being, and engagement of all children in the program Maintain accurate attendance, incident reports, and daily documentation Communicate professionally and warmly with families and school leadership Coordinate materials, activities, and outdoor play that support independence and creativity Manage program logistics, including snack preparation, transitions, and end-of-day procedures Support school-wide events and collaborate with administrative and classroom teams Uphold school policies, licensing requirements, and health/safety standards Qualifications Bachelor's degree in education or related field preferred Experience working with children in a school, childcare, or youth program setting Leadership or supervisory experience preferred Understanding of or interest in Montessori philosophy Strong communication, organization, and problem‑solving skills Ability to create a calm, positive, and structured environment CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain) Confident in managing a team and daily operations Proficient in Excel or Google sheets Compensation Competitive hourly rate or salary based on experience ($32,000-$36,000) Paid time off and professional development opportunities Supportive, mission-driven work environment Opportunities for Montessori training Job Type: Full-time Pay: $32,000.00 - $36,000.00 per year Benefits: Employee discount Life insurance Paid time off Professional development assistance Schedule: Monday to Friday Ability to Commute: Athens, GA 30606 (Required) Ability to Relocate: Athens, GA 30606: Relocate before starting work (Required) Work Location: In person
