We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Industrial Electrician to join our client’s team. In this role, you will perform skilled technical work in the installation, maintenance, and repair of complex electrical and electronic systems, wiring, fixtures, apparatus, and control equipment. You will be responsible for ensuring the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of plant machinery through expert troubleshooting, testing, and preventative maintenance. Our ideal candidate is a licensed Journeyman with a strong background in automated manufacturing environments, a strict adherence to safety protocols, and a proactive problem-solving mindset. Essential Job Functions · System Maintenance & PLC Automation: Install and maintain control and distribution apparatus (switches, relays, circuit breakers, control panels), drive systems (variable frequency, eddy current, DC), and programmable logic control (PLC) systems—including interpreting and modifying PLC control logic. · Troubleshooting & Repair: Identify and repair industrial electrical problems. Troubleshoot and maintain motor control centers, motor start circuits, control loops, generators, high-voltage switchgear, protective relaying, and related equipment. · Diagnostics & Testing: Read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics to install, calibrate, and maintain electrical apparatus. Use advanced testing equipment (multi-meters, ammeters, megohm meters, high potential testers, oscilloscopes, digital probes) to diagnose issues. · Installation: Install electrical conduit, pull wire, and terminate connections efficiently. · Preventative Maintenance: Assist in establishing and maintaining scheduled maintenance programs for plant equipment utilizing a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). · Compliance & Safety: Strictly follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and company policies. Maintain a safe work environment by following OSHA standards, legal codes, regulations, and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements. Minimum Required Qualifications · Licensure: Possession of a valid Journeyman Electrician License to perform electrical work at the municipal, county, or state level. · Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of hands-on experience in the installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of industrial electrical equipment, backed by related technical training. · Technical Knowledge: Strong command of electrical codes, high-voltage switchgear, protective relaying, grounding procedures, and industrial electronics/instrumentation. Proficient in arithmetical and algebraic calculations. · Tools & Technology: Skill in using specialized electrical diagnostic equipment and tools. Basic computer proficiency required, including knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and CMMS platforms. · Soft Skills: Strong teamwork, written and verbal communication, organizational, and independent decision-making skills. Ability to multitask and self-motivate in a fast-paced environment. · Environment: Ability to comply with GMP and strict safety/operational guidelines.
