Position Overview
This position is responsible for helping to oversee production activities; They are responsible to help with the day-to-day production process to ensure that the production line is running efficiently, and the staff is meeting their production goals. They are also responsible to supply for the team, as well as help to cover team members on the line. Must be able to spot problems and solve them. Must be detailed and quality oriented. Any mechanical or productivity problem must be reported to management immediately.
Essential Functions
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions, and deal with problems.
Must be able to train employees in a fast-paced refrigerated environment.
Print labels, operate machinery, & plan staff scheduling rotation/tasks.
Report plant machinery breakdowns to maintenance technicians and supervisors.
Engage and motivate production team members, monitor quality control and productivity standards thru the day.
Ability to spot any inconsistency on slice thickness, weights, bacon quality, firmness or tempering.
Must be able to stand for long periods of time (8 to 12 hours).
Must be able to push/pull levered weight carts that weigh between 25 to 1,500 lbs. with pallet jack and or with electric jack if certified.
Must be able to assist machine operators to set up supplies in the packer (top/bottom film, labels, inkjet) and on the slicer.
Must verified that the proper date and program is loaded into packer and slicer according to the item that is on progress on the schedule.
Will be required to have proper sense of urgency to meet production guidelines, must keep proper give away under control and high-quality standards.
Must be safety oriented, multi-tasked, and able to re-enforce policies and procedures with employees as well issue accountability to the employees when is required.
Must have good powers of observation to spot problems with production, and the ability to maintain concentration for repetitive tasks.
Must have accuracy and attention to detail and good team working skills; the ability to work alone and be flexible to rotation schedule.
Must keep all the CPQ checks and metal detectors records on time.
Required to keep a work environment neat, clean, and hazard free.
Must identify and organize training and cross training needs.
Must be flexible to work in various departments and locations.
Must understand health, safety, and basic hygiene rules.
