Kline Process Systems, a Manufacturing Systems and Process Controls Integrator, is searching for an Instrumentation and Controls Technician. This is a unique opportunity to join a progressive and expanding organization with nationally recognized expertise in continuous fluid process systems in dairy, infant formula, beverage and food plants. You will be involved in the entire life cycle of providing outstanding process solutions to our customer base of small, medium and Fortune 100 manufacturing clients. Your contributions will include instrument installation, set up, programming, calibration, testing, validation, maintenance and troubleshooting for a wide variety of devices. Working out of our headquarters in Wyomissing (Reading), Pennsylvania and traveling to customer sites, you will be involved in the following activities: Perform pre-commissioning and commissioning activities for instrumentation and control systems. Perform and verify installation of field instruments, tubing, wiring, and control panels against engineering drawings and specifications. Conduct functional testing and signal verification for instrumentation devices and control systems. Verify and calibrate pressure, temperature, flow, conductivity, level, smart valves, proximity devices and VFDs (Variable Frequency Drives) using approved procedures and equipment. Test and troubleshoot instrumentation, communication networks, PLCs, and control systems during startup activities. Perform or assist with system installation, energization, startup, shutdown, and performance testing. Read and interpret P&IDs, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation. Document commissioning activities, deficiencies, test results, and punch list items. Coordinate with vendors, engineering, construction, operations, and safety personnel. Ensure all work complies with company safety policies, industry standards (including dairy and food GMP and sanitation requirements) and customer site procedures. Support turnover documentation and handover activities to operations teams. The ideal candidate will have the following knowledge and experience: Knowledge and understanding of control system components such PLCs and related I/O components, power supplies, VFDs, MCCs, etc. PLC programming experience is helpful but not required. Knowledge and understanding of control panel design and layout. Experience with ladder control panel wiring diagrams. Experience with field instrumentation devices such as flow, pressure and conductivity meters, RTDs, proximity switches, etc. Experience with field instrumentation communication methods such as 4-20ma, HART, Ethernet/IP, Modbus, etc. Strong ability to set up/configure field instrumentation devices Strong PC skills using AutoCAD, Word and Excel. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Knowledge of NEC (National Electric Code) is helpful but not required. Your educational background should consist of the following: Associate degree, technical certification, or equivalent experience in Instrumentation, Electrical Technology, or a related field. Travel: This position requires approximately 50% travel to customer sites throughout the United States. Actual travel requirements vary and are dependent on the projects being worked on.
