Position - Physical Therapist Assistant Location - West Reading, PA Duration Of Contract - 14 + Weeks (Extended) Shift - 8 AM - 4:30 PM No Of hours Per week - 40.00 Position Summary: The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) works under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist (PT) to help patients recover from injuries, illnesses, and surgeries. The PTA assists in implementing treatment plans, improving mobility, reducing pain, and enhancing patients' overall physical function and quality of life. Key Responsibilities: Assist Physical Therapists in implementing individualized treatment plans. Provide therapeutic exercises, gait training, balance training, and mobility activities. Monitor patient progress and report changes in condition to the supervising Physical Therapist. Educate patients and families on exercise programs, safety techniques, and home care instructions. Document patient treatments, responses, and progress accurately in the medical record. Assist patients with transfers, ambulation, and the use of assistive devices. Maintain treatment areas, equipment, and supplies in a safe and organized manner. Ensure compliance with facility policies, state regulations, and professional standards of practice. Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes. Requirements: Associate Degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program. Active PTA license in the applicable state. Current BLS/CPR certification. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively with patients of all ages and varying physical abilities. Knowledge of rehabilitation techniques, therapeutic exercises, and patient care practices.
