Duties Safely maneuver and position tractor-trailers, flatbeds, refrigerated trailers, tankers, dump trucks, roll-off trucks, and other freight vehicles within the yard using manual transmission trucks. Spot trailers accurately at designated dock doors or staging areas to facilitate efficient loading and unloading processes. Conduct pre-trip inspections on yard equipment and trailers to ensure safety and compliance with company standards. Assist with load & unload activities when necessary, supporting the overall freight handling operations. Maintain clear communication with drivers, warehouse personnel, and dispatchers to coordinate trailer movements seamlessly. Operate forklifts or other yard equipment as needed to support trailer positioning or yard organization. Support route driving tasks when required for delivery or pickup runs during shift hours. Skills Proven experience with truck driving, including tractor-trailer operations and commercial driving standards. Skilled in operating manual transmission trucks safely and efficiently. Familiarity with various trailer types such as refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks. Strong ability to load & unload freight accurately while adhering to safety protocols. Experience with forklift operation is a plus for yard organization tasks. Knowledge of route driving procedures and delivery driver experience is advantageous. Excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively within a team environment.
