Overview Reading Advanced Machining is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Part-Time Driver / Warehouse Support team member. This role is responsible for local and regional driving, material handling, facility upkeep, and general warehouse support. The ideal candidate is flexible, organized, safety-focused, and comfortable supporting both transportation and hands-on warehouse operations. This part-time role is estimated at 20-25 hours per week , with some flexibility based on workload and scheduling needs. Candidates must be fully available during daytime business hours. This position is not suited for individuals attempting to work around another job. Responsibilities Safely operate a variety of commercial vehicles, including our box trucks and GMC Sierra pick up truck, adhering to all traffic laws and safety protocols Load and unload freight, pallets, and cargo using the forklifts or manual handling techniques Drive route-specific deliveries and pickups, maintaining punctuality and excellent customer service Deliver shipments to the local FedEx facility, ensuring timely drop-off and proper handling of all packages. Support warehouse functions by organizing inventory, moving supplies, and maintaining a clean work environment Assist with vehicle inspections, routine maintenance checks, and reporting any mechanical issues promptly Communicate effectively with team members and dispatchers to coordinate schedules and delivery details Complete regional trips as needed, with the furthest travel being Maryland (up to a 6-hour round trip) Perform recycling runs and junk skid runs Transport raw materials and finished parts to and from the shop floor Pick up supplies from Sam’s Club and other vendors, including lunchroom snacks and beverages Maintain accurate communication regarding deliveries, pickups, and schedules Warehouse & Facility Support Assist with shifting materials and finished parts within the facility Keep the warehouse clean, neat, and well organized Use a leaf blower to maintain clean and presentable outdoor property areas Support general warehouse housekeeping as needed Lunchroom & Vehicle Maintenance Stock lunchroom cooler and snack shelves Detail and clean company vehicles regularly Report any vehicle or equipment issues to the Warehouse Manager Requirements Valid commercial driver’s license with clean driving record Ability to lift 50lbs. Proven experience in driving delivery vehicles or similar roles involving freight or heavy equipment operation Mechanical knowledge to perform basic vehicle inspections and troubleshoot minor issues Ability to load & unload pallets safely using forklifts; forklift certification is a plus Strong communication skills to coordinate routes, deliveries, and warehouse activities effectively Prior warehouse experience preferred for supporting inventory management and moving supplies efficiently Why Join Reading Advanced Machining?
