Optometric Technician New Path Vision Mechanicsburg, PA Job Type Full-time Job Summary New Path Vision is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Optometric Technician to support our clinical team. This role is responsible for performing preliminary testing, assisting the doctor during exams, and ensuring accurate and complete documentation within Eyefinity EHR. This is a fast-paced, patient-focused environment where accuracy, efficiency, and accountability are essential. The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, and comfortable working with both patients and technology. Responsibilities Patient Intake & Documentation Escort patients to exam rooms and obtain medical and ocular history Document chief complaint, medications, and history accurately in the EHR Ensure all patient information is complete prior to doctor exam Pre-Testing & Diagnostics Perform visual acuity testing, auto-refraction, tonometry, retinal imaging (Optos), OCT, and visual field testing Enter and verify all test results in the EHR Clinical Support Assist the doctor during patient exams Scribe and document findings when needed Maintain efficient patient flow throughout the day Patient Education Explain testing procedures and next steps Reinforce doctor recommendations and follow-up care Assist with smooth handoff to optical when applicable Equipment & Room Maintenance Ensure exam rooms are clean, stocked, and ready Maintain and properly use all diagnostic equipment Workflow & Accuracy Maintain complete and accurate patient records Ensure all testing and services are documented Support end-of-day chart completion and readiness for billing Qualifications Required High school diploma or equivalent Strong communication and interpersonal skills Basic computer proficiency Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment Preferred Experience in optometry or healthcare setting Familiarity with Eyefinity EHR Certifications such as CPO, CPOA, or CPOT (not required) Skills Attention to detail Strong organizational skills Ability to work efficiently and stay on schedule Professional and patient-focused demeanor Work Environment Clinical/medical office setting Frequent standing, walking, and patient interaction Compensation & Benefits Competitive hourly pay based on experience Opportunities for advancement On-the-job training and skill development Why Join New Path Vision We are a growing, patient-centered practice focused on delivering high-quality care through strong clinical processes and teamwork.
