Position will be responsible for running the manufacturing operations in the I and Z Mills. The position will operate a set of multi pass level rolls to a small width, low thickness, tight tolerance and surface finish material. Operators will collect process data and respond to irregularities based on statistical process control data. Position is responsible for individual safety as well as the safety of others working in the area. Key Areas of Responsibility Adhere to Safety, Health and Environmental (SH&E) policies and procedures. Responsible for the completion of Hot Work, Line Break, Lock, Tag & Try, contractor work permits and other SH&E permits. Maintain a questioning attitude to ensure a safe work environment. Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Work Instructions. Complete necessary forms, charts, etc. to document the process. Respond appropriately to process variations. Ability to safely work with hazardous materials. Daily inspection of equipment. Troubleshoot equipment as needed and perform preventative maintenance. Ability to work in a team environment and move to where the work is required. Train co-workers on job tasks as required. Perform housekeeping and 5S. Operate forklift and other motorized transportation equipment as necessary. Create work orders as necessary. Communicate the status of the operation to the shift following. Report to work station on time in order to receive operation status from previous shift. Sample, log and deliver samples to the laboratory. Participate in safety efforts (VPP, JHAs, etc.) and CIP teams Required Skills Ability to read and follow SOPs and work instructions and work safely. Initiative Working with others and dealing with people Willingness to participate on teams Motor coordination Ability to plan activities Memory of written directions Following precise standards Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and walk between several buildings. Knowledge of Chemical manufacturing industries including dealing with hazardous chemicals.
