Candidate may be required to work other shift(s) based on operational needs. This position is under the direction of the Maintenance Manager. The Maintenance Technician position is responsible for performing highly diversified duties with minimal supervision from creating a safe work environment to assisting with production equipment troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining in order to support MillerKnoll’s business goals and objectives.DAILY DUTIESCandidates must be able to troubleshoot, rebuild, and repair mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems.Ability to perform milling, welding, fabrication, and use of various power tools required.Must be able to read and interpret mechanical diagrams as well as electrical schematicsMust be flexible to work in many different environments including, but not limited to ladder work, scaffolding, rooftop, hot and cold temperatures, and willing to work overtime on weekend and holiday shifts as needed.Perform and document preventative and predictive maintenance on equipment.Abide by OSHA regulations and ISO complianceExperience with robots, CNC Mills, Powder Coating, or controls will be a plus but not required. Must be willing to complete course work for machine specific training.Attends to service calls and provides quality workmanship in a timely mannerRepairs and maintains plant equipment such as, but not limited to, hydraulic/pneumatic equipment (cylinders, valves, controls, & sensors), conveyor systems, part fixtures, servo drives/motors, electrical motors, automated manufacturing equipment, bearings, safety sensors, motion controls, sewing/textile equipment, control systems, and PLCsUtilizes proper lockout/tagout, confined space, and hot work permit procedures to maintain a safe environment while following EHS/regulatory proceduresPerforms Preventative Maintenance tasks effectively and efficientlyHelps with installing, modifying, and/or updating of equipment as requiredCreates detailed reports of repairs performed on equipment with CMMSFollows and promotes GMPs and other quality programs related to the maintenance departmentMaintains a clean work/production environment daily and after maintenance work has been performedParticipates in Continuous Improvement events including KaizensRequired to work other assigned shifts as to meet business needsPerforms other duties as requiredMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSAble to read, understand, and utilize mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical drawings/schematicsHas welding knowledge/experience or the willingness/ability to become proficient in welding (MIG/TIG)Has a basic understanding of PLC systems & Ladder Logic (Allen Bradley a plus)Possesses interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships within the team and the organizationUnderstands and utilizes Microsoft Windows, Outlook, Word, and ExcelPossesses a high level of urgency and can work with minimal supervisionAbility to push, pull, and lift 55 pounds frequently, as well as stand for long periods.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSFamiliar with CMMS for Preventative Maintenance data input and Inventory Management (Maximo a plus)Required ExperiencePossesses a High school diploma or GED with technical certification in related fieldHas 1-5 years of manufacturing or industrial maintenance experience with the ability to work in a team setting or aloneHas 1+ year of mechanical, electrical, and PLC experienceHas prior troubleshooting and Preventative Maintenance experiencePreferred QualificationsPossesses an Associate Degree in maintenance, mechatronics, or an engineering related disciplineHas Root Cause analysis methodologyPHYSICAL DEMANDSThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
