Full-time Job Announcement
Position: Systems Administrator Jr
Location: Athens Campus
Department: Information Technology
Reports to: Director of Information Technology
Salary/Benefits: Salary is commensurate with education and experience. State of Georgia benefits package.

Responsibilities:
• Work daily within systems such as Servers, Switches, and Databases.
• Prepare reports in requested format within requested time frames.
• Perform database data manipulation and extraction using MySQL to support business intelligence needs and custom reporting requests.
• Oversee core network infrastructure daily, ensuring optimal connectivity through the configuration of switches, access points, and DHCP protocols.
• Administer enterprise infrastructure by managing Active Directory, provisioning user accounts and access permissions, and maintaining server operating systems (Windows/Linux) to ensure high availability and security.
• Develop ad-hoc automation scripts (PowerShell, Bash, Batch) to streamline repetitive administrative tasks, automate user provisioning, and optimize system workflows.
• Daily ticket management upon assigned duties.
• Provide detailed technical documentation of developed processes and systems to ensure ease of or enhancement of the systems by co-workers.
• Collaboration with teams when necessary to deliver projects and data.
• Work effectively in a diverse community and meet the needs of diverse student populations.
• Conduct research into administrative system issues and products as required.
• Present ideas in user-friendly language.
• Demonstrate highly self-motivated and directed actions, with keen attention to detail.
• Demonstrate a sense of creativity, helpful for developing new processes.
• Demonstrate analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Demonstrate strong customer service orientation skills.

• Develop and/or assist with the advancement of policies and procedures and recommend changes to effectively meet the goals and requirements of the department.
• Maintain knowledge of assigned department and give updates to management on services, operations, and projects.
• Participating in meetings to ensure department goals are in line with agency or technical college goals.
• Travel (minimal) for state meetings, trainings, professional development, and system upgrades as necessary.
• Conduct regular evaluation of services provided and adjust as needed.
• Stay up to date with policies, procedures, and state or federal laws that may impact department initiatives.
• Maintain excellent working relationships with, and serve as a liaison to, internal and external customers.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills & Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
• High School Diploma and Certifications in related field(s).
Note: Experience may substitute for certifications.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Associate's degree or Higher and Certifications in related field(s).
• Three (3) years of full-time work experience installing and maintaining infrastructure hardware and software such as Servers, Networks, Computers, and Databases.
• Industry certification(s) in fields such as MCSE, CCNA.
• Database Management Experience such as MySQL.
• Scripting: Strong experience with PowerShell scripting and Python. Ability to write a basic script from scratch on demand.
• Cisco Network Experience (networking\wireless).
• Linux proficiency, including CLI.
• Virtualization proficiency (Experience in Nutanix and Vmware a plus).
• Management of data center infrastructure such as rack/blade servers, network switches (Cisco experience a plus), and SANs.
• Experience in application deployment, compliance, software updates, etc. (Intune, PDQ, SCCM, etc).
• Experience in Active Directory, EntraID, M365, and Cloud Compute platforms (Experience i a plus: Azure and AWS).
