Job Description
• Ensuring that maintenance issues are handled in a timely manner, so facilities continue to function well
• Coordinating with repairmen, contractors, and other construction professionals throughout projects to ensure that deadlines are met
• Overseeing the day-to-day operations of facilities including cleaning, maintenance, security, and repairs
• Maintaining records regarding building codes, fire codes, and other relevant regulations to ensure compliance
• Developing and implementing programs to improve the efficiency of facilities operations
• Reviewing facility usage reports to determine which areas are being used most frequently and scheduling staff accordingly
• Coordinating repair services for facilities including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and landscaping
• Working with insurance companies to file claims for damage or loss to facilities including equipment, furnishings, or other property
Requirements
• Experience as facilities manager or relevant position
• Experience in technical/engineering operations and facilities management best practices
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent organizational and leadership skills
• Good analytical/critical thinking
Physical Requirements
The physical abilities required of this classification may include the following:
• ­‐ Vision sufficient to inspect conditions of facilities, equipment and systems, and prepare and review diagrams and paperwork.
• ­‐ Walking, bending, stooping, kneeling and climbing to inspect work.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• ­‐ Speech and hearing sufficient to provide information, discuss needed work, and provide instructions and training.
• ­‐ Motor skills to operate company vehicles.
• ­‐ Work in exposure to noise, fumes, weather, moving equipment and machinery while inspecting and supervising work.
Other Requirements
Must possess a valid Georgia driver’s license and have a satisfactory driving record.
