Job Title: Forklift Operator
Job Description This role operates forklifts and other powered equipment in a high-volume distribution center to support receiving, stocking, order picking, and shipping activities. The forklift operator uses RF scanners and voice-directed systems to handle inventory accurately, maintain stock levels, and ensure products are safely and efficiently prepared for outbound transport.
Responsibilities
• Operate forklifts and other powered warehouse equipment to unload incoming freight in the receiving area.
• Process and scan incoming product using RF scanners to ensure accurate inventory records.
• Stage inventory on the dock in preparation for stocking and put-away activities.
• Use RF scanners to resupply bins and maintain accurate inventory levels throughout the warehouse.
• Store, organize, and rotate freight to support efficient and accurate order picking.
• Work on foot or operate a reach lift as needed to access and move product within racking and storage areas.
• Use a voice-directed (Voice Collect) headset to pick and fulfill customer orders accurately.
• Select and stage merchandise for shipment, ensuring orders are complete and properly labeled.
• Fulfill orders efficiently by walking or using powered equipment while maintaining productivity and quality standards.
• Operate forklifts and other powered equipment to safely load outbound trailers.
• Load product strategically to maximize trailer space and protect items during transport.
• Follow all warehouse safety guidelines, procedures, and best practices while working around moving equipment and machinery.
• Contribute to a team-oriented environment focused on productivity, accuracy, and safety.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area to support safe and efficient operations.
Essential Skills • Proven ability to operate forklifts and other powered warehouse equipment safely.
• Experience working in a warehouse or distribution center environment.
• Ability to use RF scanners to scan, track, and manage inventory.
• Capability to work with high-reach equipment or reach lifts to access elevated storage locations.
• Order picking or order selector experience in a fast-paced setting.
• Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate receiving, stocking, and order fulfillment.
• Safety-oriented mindset with consistent adherence to safety guidelines and procedures.
• Ability to walk or stand for extended periods of time during the shift.
• Ability to stoop, squat, and kneel on a regular basis to access product and perform tasks.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds when needed.
• Willingness to work in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures.
• Availability to work weekends and holidays as required by operational needs.
Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience with inventory control and maintaining inventory accuracy.
• Familiarity with high-reach forklifts or reach trucks.
• Previous experience using voice-directed picking systems such as Voice Collect.
• Background in high-volume order picking or distribution operations.
• Comfort working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Strong focus on productivity while maintaining quality and safety standards.

Work Environment
Work takes place in a temperate-controlled warehouse and distribution center that supports high-volume order fulfillment. The role involves being on your feet for extended periods, with frequent walking and movement throughout the facility. You regularly work around moving equipment and machinery, including forklifts, reach trucks, RF scanners, and voice-directed systems. The environment is fast-paced and team-oriented, with a strong emphasis on productivity, accuracy, and adherence to safety guidelines and procedures. The dress code allows for practical and comfortable attire, including shorts or pants, sneakers or other closed-toe shoes, and T-shirts without profanity.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of FREDERICKSBURG, PA.
Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.75 - $21.75/hr.
