Procurement Specialist
Location: Reading, PA 19605
Schedule: Monday – Friday | 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM or 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Flexible)
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Procurement Specialist to support Global Procurement operations. This role is responsible for executing transactional sourcing and procurement activities, ensuring timely conversion of requisitions to purchase orders, maintaining accurate procurement data, and supporting uninterrupted supply to manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage requisition backlog, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and compliance with procurement policies
• Convert approved requisitions into purchase orders in a timely manner
• Expedite purchase orders to support production and operational requirements across all sites
• Coordinate logistics and delivery schedules to maintain continuity of supply
• Resolve invoice, receipt, and pricing discrepancies with suppliers, Accounts Payable, and internal stakeholders
• Maintain supplier records and purchase order data within SAP and legacy systems
• Support master data governance including supplier, material, and pricing updates
• Track and report procurement savings and cost avoidance initiatives
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies, controls, and audit requirements
• Support special projects, process improvements, and system implementations as needed
Required Skills & Competencies
• Understanding of procure-to-pay (P2P) processes
• Working knowledge of ERP systems (SAP preferred)
• Basic knowledge of supply chain, logistics, and inventory management
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage high-volume transactional work
• Excellent attention to detail and data accuracy
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and suppliers
• Customer-service mindset with strong follow-up skills
Qualifications
• High School Diploma required
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, or related field preferred
• 2+ years of procurement, supply chain, or related experience preferred
• Manufacturing environment experience strongly preferred
• SAP or ERP system experience preferred
