Financial Planning and Analysis Manager
LHH is currently recruiting for an FP&A Manager on behalf of a confidential client in the logistics and asset-based services space. This is a highly hands-on role that sits close to the monthly close, operational accounting, and reporting functions, and plays a critical part in driving financial visibility across a complex, multi-site business.
The organization operates across multiple business engines, including direct operations, a 4PL network, and Home Services. This role requires someone who is comfortable working in a detail-heavy, execution-oriented environment where FP&A and accounting are closely intertwined.
What This Role Will Do
This FP&A Manager will be deeply embedded in the monthly close and reporting cycle, supporting operational accuracy and driving meaningful variance analysis across multiple P&L structures. The role is not purely analytical, it requires strong foundational accounting knowledge and the ability to understand how financial results are built from the ground up.
Key responsibilities include:
• Supporting monthly close activities with a focus on accruals, revenue/cost alignment, and reporting accuracy across multiple business lines
• Performing detailed variance analysis across operational and financial results, identifying key drivers at a granular level
• Partnering closely with accounting to ensure completeness and integrity of financial reporting, including reconciliations, journal entry support, and flux analysis
• Building and maintaining reporting packages that translate operational activity into clear financial insights for leadership
• Supporting budgeting, forecasting, and rolling projections with a strong emphasis on operational drivers
• Working directly with operations leaders to connect financial performance to real-time business activity
• Enhancing reporting processes and improving financial visibility across a multi-entity structure
What the Client Is Looking For
The ideal candidate will have strong technical accounting fundamentals and experience operating in a hands-on, operationally driven environment. This role requires someone who is comfortable in the details and understands how day-to-day accounting impacts FP&A outputs.
They are specifically looking for:
• Strong foundational accounting knowledge (must understand close mechanics and how financials are built)
• 5–8+ years of experience in FP&A, operational finance, or public accounting with a transition into industry
• Experience in a multi-entity, multi-site, or operationally complex business environment
• Demonstrated exposure to P&L ownership or support across multiple revenue streams or business units
• Strong variance analysis skills with the ability to explain operational drivers clearly and precisely
• Experience working closely with accounting during month-end close
• Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills
Ideal Background
• Public accounting experience transitioning into FP&A or corporate finance is highly preferred
• Exposure to logistics, transportation, workforce solutions, or other operationally intensive industries is helpful, but not required
• Candidates who have worked across multiple operating models or revenue engines will stand out
Compensation & Benefits
• Base salary up to $135,000 depending on experience
• Performance-based bonus opportunity
• Comprehensive healthcare benefits
• 401(k) with company match
• Generous PTO and paid holidays
• Opportunity for growth within a growing organization
