JOB SUMMARY:
I maging service provider with fundamental knowledge of one or more imaging modalities. The Imaging Engineer I will spend a majority of their time inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, installing, and calibrating imaging equipment. The Imaging Engineer I must be capable of completing a first pass on imaging modality service events, with the ability to resolve 50% of events independently (without vendor support) in one or more imaging modalities. Serves as a front-line responder for service events. Specialized healthcare technology management (HTM) professional having special training in one or more imaging modalities. Considered a resource in specialty area and can mentor other mentors.
M INIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in Biomedical or Electronics Engineering required OR Associate's degree in Biomedical or Electronics Engineering with 2 years of experience OR equivalent military training required.
1 year of related experience in imaging service plus increased levels of certification and training relevant to one or more imaging modalities required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
Working knowledge of imaging equipment and associated networked medical systems.
Basic proficiency in one or more imaging modalities with a basic understanding of Information Technology as it relates to imaging equipment. Knowledge of data transfer programs/protocols and platforms used for medical device interconnectivity.
Understanding of safety issues surrounding medical equipment, especially those that apply to their area of specialty. Is knowledgeable about both local and national public safety and regulatory issues, especially those issues that apply to their area of specialty. Can apply basic safety concepts to work and patient care environment.
Ability to read, understand and apply existing contract requirements and make recommendations to contract language in areas of expertise.
Ability to build customer and vendor relationships.
Ability to interact with others in a way that promotes trust.
Ability to develop and use collaborative skills and teamwork to facilitate work goals.
Ability to modify own behavior to accommodate tasks/situations.
Ability to maintain effectiveness when experiencing changes in work and responsibility.
Demonstrates commitment to PSH Values.
Baseline understanding and can communicate the use of devices supported.
In depth understanding of the operations and environment that they support such as hospital, clinic, etc. Has experience in their assigned clinical environment.
In depth understanding of common clinical terminology as well as that of life sciences such as anatomy and physiology.
Ability to use computer programs to document and track work completed. Ability to run reports and navigate through equipment database to find information.
Ability to use teamwork to facilitate work goals. May liaise with other support services departments such as IT to resolve issues.
Ability to communicate information succinctly to groups or individuals. Communicates in a focused and compelling way to drive others thoughts and actions.
Ability to plan and organize work to assure timely and accurate completion.
Ability to identify issues, problems and opportunities and takes action within scope of this job that is consistent with available facts, constraints and probably consequences.
Ability to identify continuous improvement opportunities. Uses newly gained knowledge on the job to learn through application.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Valid driver's license preferred.
