A Homebound Tutor is a certified teacher who holds Elementary (K-6), any Secondary content (7-12) and/or Special Education certifications to provide tutoring to students confined to their home. Must have proper PA certification.
REPORTS TO AND IS EVALUATED BY: Director of Education and Assessment and Building Principals
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Instruction for students on homebound in all subject areas.
• Assignments and instruction developed for student learning and based on instructor’s certification and experience.
• Providing up to 5 hours of Instruction per student assigned In their homes while they are on approved homebound Instruction approved by the District.
• Assessing progress of goals and objectives through quarterly reports. This includes progress monitoring, record keeping, and reporting of progress.
• Creating and maintaining a learning environment conducive to students learning.
• Collaborating with the school teams to support the student with  acquiring skills and learning the material taught in the classroom.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Valid PA teaching certificate
• Minimum 1 year teaching experience in the classroom
• Ability to travel to a student’s home or place of learning outside of school hours
• Strong communication
• Ability to work independently
