Description:
The unit admits patients from the ICU and medical surgical areas.
Patient population includes adults to geriatrics.
Common diagnoses include post-operative CABG, thoracic surgeries, vascular surgeries, respiratory failure, cardiac arrhythmias, diabetes ketoacidosis, gastrointestinal bleed, trauma, stroke, seizures, metabolic disorders, renal failure, hypertensive emergencies, sepsis, and various neurological disorders.
The nursing ratio is 1:3-4 on the unit.
Average daily census is 21 in a 32-bed unit.
Interdisciplinary support includes IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, social services, and rapid response teams.
Telemetry competency exam is required.
Special equipment utilized includes AirVo, BiPap, and CPAP.
All applicants must be compliant with onboarding requirements to start on time.
The schedule requires coverage for major holidays, with expectations outlined for assignments.
