Description
The University of Lynchburg , a private, regional university in the beautiful foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Central Virginia, is seeking applicants for a full-time Assistant Director for International Admissions position in the Department of Admissions.
This position reports to, is supervised by, and evaluated by the Director of International Admissions. The evaluation of work performance will be ongoing and will be carried out by the Director of International Admissions and the Assistant Vice President for Enrollment Management. It will include the specific duties and responsibilities of this position description plus employee attitude and general working behavior.

Job Purpose:
• The Assistant Director for International Admissions collaborates with the Director of International Admissions to lead and support the University's international student recruitment efforts. This position provides guidance, training, and leadership to international admissions staff in achieving enrollment goals and targets.
• The Assistant Director supports prospective, newly admitted, and current international students throughout the admissions, enrollment, onboarding, arrival, and orientation processes to ensure a successful transition to the University.
Specific Job Duties:
• Collaborate with the international admissions team to ensure the effective and timely delivery of admissions information, communications, and deadlines to prospective and newly admitted international students to support enrollment goals, including assisting with the daily operations of the International Admissions Department.
• Serve as both a Designated School Official (DSO) and Alternate Responsible Officer (ARO) for the issuance and maintenance of Certificates of Eligibility (Forms I-20 and DS-2019) for admitted students and exchange visitors.
• Collaborate with campus stakeholders to develop, update, and present pre-arrival webinars related to visa interview preparation, required immigration documentation, arrival procedures, and student transition support.
• Advise international students and scholars on F-1 and J-1 immigration regulations and compliance requirements.
• Maintain and update student records in the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) in compliance with federal immigration regulations.
• Remain current on state and federal regulations, emerging trends, and best practices related to international admissions, recruitment, retention, and global engagement initiatives, including exchange programs, certificate programs, and English Language Institute (ELI) opportunities.
• Support the Director of International Admissions with research, reporting, recertification processes, statistical analysis, and presentations.
• Assist international students with processes related to CPT, OPT, reinstatement, change of status applications, Social Security numbers, driver's licenses, and employment verification documentation.
• Supervise and mentor international student ambassadors.
• Collaborate with Global Education, campus stakeholders, and international partners to sustain and strengthen global partnerships and exchange opportunities.
• Partner with the Office of Marketing and Communications (MarCom) to develop and update recruitment materials, including the international admissions website, brochures, digital communications, and landing pages.
• Assist in resolving issues involving students, faculty, staff, outside agencies, and community partners related to international admissions procedures and student enrollment processes.
• Support incoming international students and scholars with housing, academic, and logistical concerns related to transitioning to campus life and living in the United States.
• Assist with maintaining and updating international admissions social media accounts and communication platforms as needed.
• Review admissions documents, evaluate applications, issue immigration documents, and direct applicants to transcript evaluation and translation services when necessary.
• Host and support international visitors in collaboration with campus departments and personnel.
• Work with state, national, and international educational organizations to expand opportunities for University of Lynchburg students and programs.
• Support the University's commitment to diversity, inclusion, and global awareness initiatives.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Starting Salary:
• $45,000 Annual Starting

Schedule:
• 8:30 am - 5:00 pm (7.5 hours/day with some evenings and weekends to meet needs of the department may be required)
Qualifications
Experience/Skills:
• 5 Years of Admissions Experience, including the international market
• DSO Experience
• Previous experience utilizing an admissions CRM
• Experience reviewing applications and making admissions decisions
Physical Demands:
• Prolonged standing/setting/wrist movement
Required Qualifications:
