Project Engineer – Facilities, HVAC, Utilities
Job Description
Our pharmaceutical client is seeking a Project Manager / Project Engineer contractor to support construction and site modification projects in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment. This person will help manage work tied to HVAC, utilities, mechanical systems, boilers, air handlers, and site modification projects. The consultant will be expected to step into active projects quickly, support ongoing execution, and help keep project activities organized and on schedule. The project portfolio may include one or multiple construction-related projects totaling around $3M in value. Strong communication is critical, as this person will coordinate closely with internal customers, design firms, vendors, contractors, and site stakeholders.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
Coordinate meetings with internal customers, design firms, vendors, and contractors.
Support facilities-related project work involving mechanical systems, HVAC, utilities, and electrical scope.
Create and manage purchase orders tied to project execution and upcoming shutdown needs.
Track project financials, cash flow projections, schedules, and overall project status.
Take meeting minutes, follow up on action items, and help keep project teams aligned.
Support project planning and execution across one or multiple active capital projects.
Must-Have Skills
Engineering degree
5–7 years of project management or project engineering experience
Facilities, HVAC, utilities, mechanical, or electrical project experience
Experience working within a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment
Microsoft Project and Windows/MS Office
Strong communication and coordination skills
Bonus / Nice-to-Have
PMP certification
