Associate Attorney - Real Estate & Foreclosures
Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Associate Attorney to join our real estate practice, with a focus on foreclosure matters. The ideal candidate will support senior attorneys in handling residential and commercial real estate transactions, foreclosure litigation and resolution, and related compliance and title issues. This role requires strong legal research and writing skills, experience with courtroom practice, and the ability to manage a caseload while delivering excellent client service.
Key Responsibilities • Handle foreclosure matters from intake through resolution, including drafting pleadings, motions, and settlement documents.
• Conduct legal research and draft memoranda, briefs, and correspondence related to real estate and foreclosure law.
• Manage transactional work including purchase and sale agreements, title review, closing documentation, and escrow coordination.
• Appear in court and before administrative bodies as needed; prepare for hearings, mediations, and trials.
• Communicate effectively with clients, lenders, title companies, and opposing counsel to advance case strategy and achieve timely resolutions.
• Review and ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local real estate laws and regulations, including foreclosure statutes and lender requirements.
• Maintain organized case files, case management system entries, and billing records; meet deadlines and production targets.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys and support staff to develop workflows, improve procedures, and mentor paralegals or junior staff.
Qualifications • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and admission to the state bar in good standing.
• 2+ years of experience practicing law with demonstrable experience in real estate matters and foreclosure litigation or loan servicing work preferred.
• Strong legal research, drafting, and oral advocacy skills; courtroom experience a plus.
• Familiarity with real estate transactional documents, title issues, and closing processes.
• Ability to manage a busy caseload, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; client-focused and able to work collaboratively in a team setting.
• Proficiency with legal research tools (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis), case management software, and Microsoft Office suite.
• High ethical standards, sound judgment, and the ability to handle confidential client information with discretion.
