Summer 2026 Student Support Position Camp Lily (Berks County)
Employment Terms
• June 29th through August 7th
• Pay rate: $30 per hour + Mileage to/from Camp
• Monday through Friday, up to 7 hours per day*
• Employment Location: Camp Lily - Berks County
Hamburg Area School District is seeking individuals to support a student attending Camp Lily Berks during Summer 2026. The District is seeking either one individual to cover the full duration of the camp or multiple individuals to provide coverage across designated weeks.
This position is intended to support a student with disabilities in accessing a camp experience, with a primary focus on personal care needs . Camp Lily staff will provide general supervision, programming, and activity-based support throughout the day.
About Camp Lily
Camp Lily serves students ages 821 with disabilities and provides inclusive programming focused on skill development, social interaction, and independence. Camp activities include swimming, arts and crafts, sports, music, educational programming, and special events. Camp staffing includes a low camper-to-staff ratio to support individualized needs.
Primary Responsibilities
• Provide one-on-one support focused primarily on personal care needs, including toileting assistance, in a respectful and dignified manner
• Support the student's health, safety, and comfort throughout the camp day
• Coordinate as needed with Camp Lily staff to ensure smooth transitions during activities
• Maintain professional communication with district personnel and camp staff
• Follow all district policies and procedures, including confidentiality requirements
Additional Information
• This is a temporary, summer position aligned with Camp Lily's schedule
• Training and guidance will be provided prior to the start of camp
• Candidates may indicate availability for the full summer or specific weeks
Minimum Qualifications
• Demonstrates professional and personal characteristics necessary for working effectively with students, parents, school personnel, and members of the community.
• Prior teaching experience as a classroom teacher or paraeducator is recommended
• Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing demands and learning environments.
• Ability to attend Camp Lily dates
• Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and administration
• Possesses high standards and integrity.

• Demonstrate knowledge, skill, and ability to support personal learning goals for students.
• Present as being flexible and adaptable to changing environments.
• Guide the learning process toward achievement of program goals.
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing; ability to communicate with school personnel, students, parents and the public while complying with the confidentiality requirements on local, state, and federal policies and statutes.
• Knowledge of educational resources, policies, and procedures.
• Working knowledge of computers and related instructional technology devices.
• Working knowledge of software programs utilized in the school system.
• Knowledge of laws, policies, and procedures with respect to student safety, security, confidentiality, and ethical practice.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships as necessitated by work assignments.

Physical Demands : While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk and/or sit and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds independently. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision. Low exposure to self to bruises and cuts due to typical office environment.
Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outdoor conditions. The employee may be required to travel between District facilities using personal transportation. The employee may be required to work non-traditional hours based on District needs.
Mental Functions: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate and use interpersonal skills. The employee is frequently required to compare, copy, coordinate, instruct and negotiate. The employee is occasionally required to evaluate, analyze, compute, compile and synthesize.
Cognitive Ability: While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to communicate effectively with all stakeholders (administration, teachers, parents, students, vendors, etc.). The employee must be able to organize and prioritize multiple tasks, exercise good judgment and make decisions.
