Category/Shift: Salaried Full-Time Physical Location: 720 Laurel StreetReading, PA 19602 The Job You Will Perform: The E/I Maintenance FLL is responsible for safe and efficient leadership of the instrument and electrical maintenance activities of an hourly crew consisting of 4 technicians in a 100% recycle corrugated medium mill. This position leads in safety, environmental compliance, employee engagement, crew one to ones, hourly team development, process productivity, efficiency, and reliability. They interact with mill operations, maintenance, and management personnel on a day-to-day basis while performing their duties. This position works within the Maintenance Department and reports to the E&I Maintenance Manager.The First Line Leader will work closely with a variety of different areas throughout the mill including operations, maintenance, technical, and management. The First Line Leader will support the millwide operations which includes the Utilities, Stock Prep and Paper Machine. Provide visible and active leadership in delivering excellent safety resultsDirectly lead and actively engage operating team to provide excellent results in reliable and cost effective operations using key operating windows and key performance indicators as guidanceReport and communicate safety and performance measurements against objectivesSupport data gathering and timely response to reliability related incidentsConduct one to one developmental discussions and coach employees to accomplish team goalsProvide direct support for and participation in the mill’s structured cost reduction efforts/teamsLead and deliver results through GMS based processes and systemsMaintain strong relationships with other Maintenance personnel as well as operating and maintenance leadersEnforce mill rules and agreements, taking corrective actions as needed to address concernsActively use and improve upon existing systems for managing daily operationsCoordinate training and development for the crewInitiate and facilitate problem solving (TCC)Manages technician daily work load with tasks, projects, preventative maintenance scheduling, and payrollUnderstand and promote Manufacturing Excellence tools and processesProvide support for capital project development and implementationImplement systems to improve/sustain resultsFacilitate the implementation of new procedures and controls required by the change in facilities, products, and corporate policies and proceduresAvailable to support on-call technicans after hours when requiredThe Skills You Will Bring: Three (3) to five (5) years of industrial maintenance experience in an Instrument/Electrical role, or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Experience with AC motors, instrumentation, pneumatics, hydraulics, PLCs/DCS systemsExperience using a computer and skilled in word processing, spreadsheet programs (Microsoft Excel), SAP business systems, and other databases.
