J OB SUMMARY:
P enn State Health Life Lion EMS is seeking skilled and dedicated EMT’s to respond to emergencies, assess patients; provide treatment in accordance with PA DOH Basic Life Support standard curriculum. They are also responsible to transport patients according to established protocols and assist Advance Life Support (Paramedic) providers with patient care management. In addition, they perform non-emergency routine medical transports utilizing ambulances and wheelchair vans and follow up with complete appropriate documentation. Life Lion EMT’s are part of a highly reputable team that supports the mission of Penn State Health, a leading Academic Medical Center and Level 1 trauma center.
M INIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
H igh School Diploma or GED required.
B asic life support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers Program CPR/AED certified required.
E ligibility for Pennsylvania EMT certification required.
V alid Driver’s license required and eligible to operation an EMS vehicle in the Commonwealth of PA required.
C ompletion of approved Emergency Vehicle Operations Training program required.
P A DOH EMSVO eligibility required.
H azmat Awareness Training must be obtained within 30 days of start date.
N IMS (100, 200, 700, 800) required within 30 days of start date.
P HYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
A ble to stand/walk frequently; sit occasionally.
A ble to lift/carry 0-200 lbs frequently.
A ble to push/pull 0-200 lbs frequently.
A ble to lift/carry and push/pull over 200 lbs infrequently with assistance or use of lifting equipment.
A ble to climb occasionally, reach constantly.
A ble to use hand for simple/firm grasping.
A ble to work in all environmental and weather conditions.

A t Least 6 Months Of EMT Experience Preferred
