Job Title: Manufacturing Supervisor
Job Description
The Manufacturing Supervisor oversees day-to-day operations in a steel fabrication environment, leading a team of 10–15 employees in one of several production departments. This role drives safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance while implementing Lean Manufacturing and Toyota Production System principles. The position is salaried, first shift, and offers the opportunity to influence plant-level performance and contribute to ongoing operational improvements.
Responsibilities
• Provide full operational leadership for plant-level manufacturing activities within an assigned department such as machine and saw shop, lasers, or press brake, assembly, welding, and paint.
• Own plant performance across safety, quality, delivery, cost, and productivity metrics for the assigned area.
• Review weekly performance data on departmental boards labeled Safety, Quality, Performance, Schedule, and Opportunity, and create action plans to improve results in each area.
• Drive the implementation, sustainment, and expansion of Lean Manufacturing and Toyota Production System principles, including standard work, 5S, visual management, and kaizen events.
• Identify and eliminate waste while optimizing process flow across fabrication, welding, assembly, finishing, and material flow operations.
• Oversee and coordinate work in key manufacturing processes such as welding, assembly, laser operations, CNC machining, saw operations, receiving, press brake, paint, powder coating, and general machining, as applicable to the assigned area.
Essential Skills
• Minimum of 5 years of manufacturing supervisory experience with progressive leadership responsibility.
• Demonstrated familiarity with Toyota Production System (TPS) and Lean Manufacturing concepts and deployment.
• Proven ability to lead teams, drive accountability, and deliver measurable results.
• Experience with MRP systems to support production planning and material flow.
• Practical knowledge of Six Sigma or similar data-driven problem-solving methodologies.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
• Formal Lean or Six Sigma training or certification.
• Experience supporting operational turnaround, scaling, or integration initiatives.
• Experience overseeing operations in areas such as welding, assembly, laser cutting, CNC machining, saw operations, receiving, press brake, paint, powder coating, and machining.

Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $100000.00/yr.
