POSITION SUMMARY
The Coordinator of Curriculum works to implement and improve a unified program that aligns with the Georgia Standards for Excellence in the Clarke County School District. The coordinator's main goal is to help teachers enhance their instructional skills, ensuring that lessons are academically challenging, meet curriculum standards, build students’ knowledge and skills, and encourage students to be actively engaged and take ownership of their learning.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION:
• Master’s degree in education or related field
• Maintains all licenses and certifications
CERTIFICATION/LICENSE:
• T-5 content certification
• Leadership or instructional supervision endorsement preferred
• Criminal Justice Fingerprint
• Background Clearance
• Valid Georgia driver’s license and reliable transportation
WORK EXPERIENCE:
• Five (5) years’ teaching experience

Required to perform multiple, technical tasks with a need to occasionally upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions. Specific skill based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: performing multiple, highly complex, technical tasks with a need to occasionally upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions; applying assessment instruments; utilizing coaching, training, and workshop skills; operating standard office equipment including pertinent software applications; and preparing and maintaining accurate records.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES (Generally ranges from 5-10 bullet points)
• Develops, reviews, and revises content curricula.
• Continuously improves content curricula based on student achievement data and school feedback.
• Ensures alignment of CCSD content curriculum with Georgia Standards for Excellence and district resources.
• Leads the selection of instructional resources to support the district’s content curriculum.
• Identifies and assists teachers with instructional practices and programs to boost student achievement.
• Coordinates with the assessment office to monitor student achievement in the content area.
• Facilitates content area instruction through collaboration with teachers, coaches, department chairs, and administrators.
• Implements a comprehensive professional development model based on district goals, research, data, and feedback.
• Evaluates and communicates current research and trends in content areas to relevant audiences.
• Supports administrators, department chairs, and instructional coaches in delivering professional development and visits schools regularly to assist with curriculum implementation.
• Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
