About the Position
In this role, you will...
• Research and analyze financial information to support budget preparation, meetings, and planning for HHS (Health Human Services) Core Services
• Serve as the primary resource for entering operating budgets for Health and Human Services Core Service units
• Prepare, monitor, and maintain State Grant Funding programs to ensure compliance with Chapter 388, Florida Statutes for Mosquito Control
• Assist in developing financial strategies and educate staff on cost-reduction initiatives and policy interpretation
• Analyze, allocate, monitor, and approve expenditures in compliance with internal and external guidelines across multiple financial systems
• Perform month-end reconciliations and review revenue and expense reports for HHS Core Service units
• Originate eGenda items for Board of County Commissioners review, ensuring required documentation and policy compliance
• Coordinate with the Office of Financial Planning on Capital Asset inventory audits and compliance
• Act as Financial Agent for chemical and pesticide purchases and collaborate with Procurement throughout the contract and bid processes
• Manage purchasing activities, including purchase requests, POs, invoice approvals, Purchase Card oversight, and maintenance of records for audit compliance
• Maintains all pertinent records, files, and documents; assures completeness and accuracy consistent with external and internal audit requirements.
• Supervises Administrative Specialist I.
About the Schedule
Work Hours:
• Full-Time, 40 hours per week.
• Typical Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:30 - 4:00 p.m. ( no weekends! )
• As a reminder, all county employees are considered essential and must be prepared to protect and support the community and its citizens. Each employee, without exception, will have a duty assignment and be required to work during a disaster or declared emergency.
About You
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field AND two (2) years of job-related experience.
• -OR- Six (6) years of professional job-related experience can be substituted for the education at management’s discretion.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Knowledge of public sector contracting; establishing contracts, utilizing, and monitoring contracts for compliance
• Knowledge of GovMax, eGenda, OnBase, Acrobat, Smartsheet, Excel, Word, Outlook
• Must obtain Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Public Health Pest Control License in first 6 months (We can help with this!)
About Everything Else
Starting Pay Range: $64,812.80 - $68,000.00 based on experience.
