Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Licensed Veterinary Technician at the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine, located in Athens, GA. The Licensed Veterinary Technician will provide hands-on care to a variety of animal patients, assist veterinarians with medical and surgical procedures, manage anesthesia, and educate clients on pet health and care. Responsibilities will include monitoring patient well-being, administering treatments, and collaborating with veterinary teams to ensure the highest level of care.
Qualifications
• Proficiency in Animal Care and hands-on experience in Veterinary Technology
• Knowledge of Anesthesiology and experience in monitoring patients under anesthesia
• Strong skills in Client Education, with the ability to communicate pet care information clearly to owners
• Experience in Pet Care and a passion for working with animals
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
• Current Veterinary Technician license in the state of Georgia or eligibility to acquire one
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Previous experience in a veterinary teaching hospital or specialty practice is preferred
