Join Our Team as a Substitute Paraprofessional! Pottsgrove School District is seeking dedicated, professional, and compassionate individuals to serve as Substitute Paraprofessionals. In this role, you will provide critical support to our students by filling in for Instructional Assistant I staff at both the elementary and secondary levels. As a substitute, you play a vital role in maintaining a consistent and supportive learning environment for students requiring academic, physical, or behavioral assistance. Primary Responsibilities While on assignment, you will work under the guidance of Special Education Teachers or Building Principals to perform the following: Student Support: Assist students with academic tasks, organization of workspace, and recording homework. Instructional Assistance: Implement activities assigned by the teacher and assist with small group instruction. Safety & Supervision: Monitor students during lunch periods, on the playground, and during transitions between classes or to transportation. Personal Care: Provide assistance with self-care activities such as feeding, dressing, and cleaning as needed for specific student requirements. Confidentiality: Maintain strict professional confidentiality regarding all pupil information in accordance with district policy. Requirements & Qualifications To ensure the highest quality of support for our students, candidates must meet the following criteria: Education: High School diploma required. Experience: Previous experience working with children is preferred but not required. Physical Ability: Must be able to stand for long periods and assist in lifting students or equipment (potentially 50–75 lbs or more). Clearances: Successful submission of a pre-employment medical exam, PA State Police Criminal History, FBI Criminal History, and PA Child Abuse Clearance. Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, the ability to exercise good judgment, and a valid CPR/First Aid certification (maintained yearly). Work Environment Flexibility: Assignments are available across the district at various grade levels. Conditions: You may work in typical office/classroom settings or external environments with varying temperatures (e.g., recess duty). Pay: $16.24 per hour Work Location: In person
