Job Summary The YMCA is seeking a qualified and reliable Fitness Instructor to lead scheduled fitness classes and deliver safe, effective, and engaging workouts for participants. This role is responsible for maintaining a high standard of instruction while ensuring participant safety and adapting classes to meet varying fitness levels. Key Responsibilities Lead group fitness classes according to the established schedule Provide participants with a safe, effective, and motivating workout experience Demonstrate proper exercise techniques and correct form as needed Monitor participants throughout class to ensure proper use of equipment and prevent injury Adjust class structure and intensity to meet the needs of participants Communicate clearly and professionally with participants before, during, and after class Required Qualifications Minimum age of 18 Current certification specific to the fitness class being instructed Ability to pass Child Abuse, Criminal, and FBI background checks Physical Requirements Ability to demonstrate exercises, including lifting weights and continuous movement Ability to stand and move for extended periods during class instruction Ability to observe all participants clearly to ensure safety Ability to lift and move equipment weighing up to 25 lbs (occasionally more with assistance)
