Civil Site Superintendent Location: Sarasota, FL (Gulf Coast markets) Company: Well-established Sarasota-based general contractor specializing in commercial, public works, and site development projects throughout the Gulf Coast region. Job Summary We are seeking a skilled Civil Site Superintendent to oversee site and infrastructure projects from start to finish. This role focuses on ground-up site development, including roadway construction, underground utilities, grading, drainage, and subdivision infrastructure. The ideal candidate will lead the field operations, manage subcontractors, and ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget. Main Duties Take charge of all civil/site project operations, including roadwork, utilities, grading, paving, and subdivision infrastructure Create and manage 3-week look-ahead schedules, as well as coordinate daily work plans Supervise earthwork, utility installations, sidewalk construction, and road paving activities Coordinate with utility providers, local authorities, and inspectors for tie-ins, permits, and regulatory compliance Direct subcontractors and in-house crews, conducting daily meetings for coordination and updates Enforce safety protocols, lead toolbox talks, and ensure OSHA compliance on site at all times Manage documentation such as as-builts, daily reports, quantity tracking, compaction testing, and inspection records Collaborate with project managers on scheduling, procurement, change orders, and financial considerations Assist with project closeout activities, including final inspections, punch lists, and turnover processes Act as a professional representative of the company when interacting with clients, engineers, inspectors, and government agencies Requirements At least 5-10 years of experience as a Superintendent or Foreman on civil/site development projects Strong background in roadway construction, underground utilities, and subdivision infrastructure projects Knowledge of grading, earthwork, paving, curb & gutter, and drainage systems for site development Ability to interpret civil plans, utility plans, and profiles, identifying and resolving issues in the field Experience working with municipalities, Department of Transportation, and utility providers on projects Proficient in Procore or similar project management software to track and manage project progress Demonstrate strong leadership skills and effective communication to oversee subcontractors and maintain relationships Preferred qualifications include OSHA 30-hour certification and a valid driver's license; candidates should be located in or willing to work in the Sarasota/Manatee area
Salary: $110,000 - $145,000 a year
