Duties/Responsibilities
Patient Care:
• Administers flu immunizations under the direction of a nurse.
• Educates patients regarding flu immunizations.
• Documents patient information clearly and accurately.
• Recognizes abnormal findings and urgent problems and seeks appropriate assistance.
• Anticipates special supplies and equipment needed.
• Always ensures patient and staff safety.
• Complete all assignments and procedures in a safe and efficient manner with minimal supervision.
• Respects confidentiality.

• Provides clerical support for flu outreach events to include check-in and consent process.
• Assist patients with entering insurance information into the patient portal.
• Supply management for vaccine outreach events.
• Data entry and reporting.
• Outreach logistics.

Position Summary
This is a temporary position (August 10, 2026 – October 31, 2026). The position serves as administrative and clinical support for UHC’s #flUGA campaign. Student Assistants will assist with flu immunization events on campus to include vaccine administration and administrative support. A mandatory training event will occur in late August. Students must be available at least twice weekly from 8-1 or 12-5. Some evening hours may also be available.
UHC Minimum
Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification in Position:
• Health related major
UHC Preferred
• Prior history of employment or volunteerism in patient care.
• Medical Office Assistant Certification or Certified Nursing Assistant preferred.
• CPR Certification preferred
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities And/or Competencies
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and written.
• Computer skills including Microsoft Office Outlook and Word.
• Demonstrate the ability to be flexible, organized, and collaborative while working well with a varied staff in a team setting.
• Exhibit exceptional customer service to internal and external customers.
Physical Demands
Active position including walking, standing, sitting, reaching, typing, bending, talking, listening, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 20 pounds.
