Job Title: Production Trainer
Job Description
This entry-level trainer role focuses on delivering structured instruction to new hires and employees transferring into new departments, with an emphasis on basic assembly skills in a manufacturing setting. You will use established lesson plans and curriculum to teach terminology, parts recognition, policies and procedures, computer system usage, and fundamental assembly techniques. The position will initially be part-time and split with your current department responsibilities.
Responsibilities
• Deliver training sessions to new hires and employees transferring to other departments using established lesson plans and curriculum.
• Teach basic assembly skills, including terminology, parts recognition, and fundamental assembly techniques.
• Provide clear instruction on company policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and relevant procedures for the manufacturing environment.
• Train employees on how to use required computer systems to perform their daily tasks.
• Support the development and refinement of training content and materials based on training needs and feedback.
• Conduct needs assessments to identify skill gaps and recommend appropriate training solutions.
• Ensure training documentation is accurate, up to date, and properly controlled according to document control standards.
• Utilize the learning management system to assign, track, and record training activities and completion.
• Deliver safety training and reinforce safe work practices throughout all training sessions.
• Collaborate with supervisors, leads, and production staff to align training with operational requirements and performance expectations.
• Maintain a professional, supportive, and engaging training environment that encourages questions and active participation.
• Monitor trainee progress and provide feedback to help employees successfully complete training and transition into their roles.
Essential Skills
• Experience in a supervisory, lead, or production role in a manufacturing or similar environment.
• Ability to deliver clear, structured training and instruction to individuals and small groups.
• Familiarity with basic assembly processes, terminology, and parts recognition.
• Knowledge of company policies, procedures, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) in a production setting.
• Comfort using computer systems and the ability to train others on system usage.
• Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to explain concepts in a simple and understandable way.
• Attention to detail in following and teaching documented procedures and work instructions.
• Commitment to safety and the ability to effectively deliver safety-related training.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
• Experience in training development or assisting with the creation of training materials.
• Hands-on experience with training instruction in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Familiarity with learning management systems for assigning and tracking training.
• Understanding of document control practices and maintaining accurate training records.
• Experience conducting needs assessments to identify training requirements.
• Ability to adapt training style to different learning needs and experience levels.
• Strong organizational skills to manage part-time training responsibilities alongside current departmental duties.
Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Reading, PA.
Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
