Maintenance Technician-Food & Beverage
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Technician to support our food and beverage manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for performing preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance on production, packaging, and facility equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and continuous operations. The Maintenance Technician works closely with production, quality, and sanitation teams to minimize downtime and maintain compliance with food safety and regulatory standards.
Our production team runs on 12-hour shifts, 3 days one week, and 4 days the following week.
• Crew D - Wednesday, Thursday, Friday & Saturday - 7PM - 7:30 AM
or
• Crew C - Sunday, Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday - 7PM - 7:30AM
*Shifts alternate every other Wednesday*
(working every other Wednesday)
Salary
• $32.00 - $40.00 per hour based on experience
Key Responsibilities
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on processing, packaging, and material handling equipment.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Troubleshoot PLC-controlled machinery and automated systems (where applicable).
• Maintain plant utilities including boilers, compressors, refrigeration systems, and HVAC (as applicable).
• Conduct facility repairs related to plumbing, lighting, doors, flooring, and structural components.
Production Support
• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and production interruptions.
• Partner with production supervisors and operators to resolve mechanical issues.
• Perform equipment changeovers and adjustments to support production schedules.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve equipment reliability and efficiency.
Food Safety & Compliance
• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with GMP, HACCP, and food safety standards.
• Follow proper lockout/tagout, confined space, and safety procedures.
• Maintain clean and organized work areas in accordance with sanitation requirements.
• Assist with audit preparation and corrective actions related to maintenance.
Preventive Maintenance & Documentation
• Execute scheduled preventive maintenance programs.
• Document work orders, repairs, and parts usage in the maintenance management system (CMMS).
• Identify recurring equipment issues and recommend permanent solutions.
• Assist in developing and updating maintenance procedures.
Qualifications
• High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or trade school preferred.
• 3+ years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment (food or beverage preferred).
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with conveyors, fillers, mixers, packaging lines, pumps, and motors.
• Basic PLC and automation knowledge preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Familiarity with CMMS systems.
• Forklift and/or scissor lift certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).

Physical & Work Environment Requirements
