2nd Shift Packaging Technician – Vaccine Manufacturing
Sigma Systems is currently seeking a Packaging Technician to join our team in Athens . This role supports vaccine packaging operations and involves operating packaging equipment, labeling, inspection, and ensuring compliance with cGMP and quality standards .
The ideal candidate will have manufacturing or pharmaceutical packaging experience , strong attention to detail, and the ability to operate packaging machinery in a regulated production environment.
Key Responsibilities
•
Perform labeling, inspection, and packaging of vaccine products in accordance with established procedures.
•
Operate packaging equipment including labelers, pick-and-place systems, heat tunnels, vision systems, and forklifts .
•
Ensure packaging lines achieve target production rates and quality standards .
•
Inspect products to ensure compliance with quality and regulatory guidelines .
•
Perform equipment setup, changeovers, and initial troubleshooting for packaging machinery.
•
Maintain accurate cGMP documentation and batch records .
•
Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) .
•
Prepare QA line clearances and ensure proper documentation.
•
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized production environment .
•
Collaborate with production teams to meet daily production targets .
•
Participate in daily performance reviews and process monitoring .
•
Complete batch tickets and production documentation .
•
Identify and report safety issues or process deviations .
Communication & Team Collaboration
•
Communicate production progress and operational needs to the Shift Line Leader or Supervisor.
•
Escalate process issues or equipment concerns promptly.
•
Coordinate with cross-functional teams to maintain efficient workflow and production output .
Minimum Qualifications
•
High School Diploma or GED required
•
2–3 years of manufacturing or production experience
•
Strong attention to detail and quality-focused mindset
•
Basic math and computer skills
•
Experience with equipment operation and troubleshooting
•
Ability to lift up to 35 lbs
•
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Preferred Qualifications
•
Associate degree or equivalent experience
•
5+ years of manufacturing or packaging experience
•
Forklift certification
•
Experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or regulated manufacturing environments
Work Environment
•
Manufacturing environment supporting vaccine production and packaging
•
Must follow safety policies, HSE guidelines, and cGMP compliance requirements
•
Ability to work 10-hour shifts on 2nd shift schedule
