About the Position
Make an Impact Leading Stormwater Operations:
•
Provide leadership and oversight for stormwater operations, including daily functions and emergency response
•
Supervise and coordinate activities of field crews and supervisory staff
•
Plan, schedule, and manage routine maintenance and operational activities
•
Coordinate staffing and deploy personnel and equipment for scheduled and emergency work
•
Monitor workload distribution, crew assignments, and equipment utilization
•
Ensure compliance with county, state, and OSHA regulations, including safety procedures and equipment use
•
Deliver excellent customer service and maintain strong relationships with residents, agencies, and internal departments
•
Collaborate with internal teams, manage interlocal agreements, and coordinate external vendors and resources
•
Develop long-range maintenance plans and support stormwater initiatives in partnership with engineering teams
•
Monitor, evaluate, and improve operational efficiency, recommending adjustments as needed
•
Prepare and manage operating budgets, expenditures, business plans, and resource allocation
•
Assess staffing needs, support hiring processes, and conduct performance evaluations and disciplinary actions
•
Manage materials, supplies, and inventory to support operations
•
Develop and deliver training programs for staff
Standard Work Hours are Monday - Friday, 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
About You
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in construction, engineering , or related field AND six (6) years of progressively responsible related experience
• -OR- Master’s Degree in construction, engineering , or related field AND four (4) or more years of related experience
• -OR- May consider substituting years of experience for the four (4) year degree
• -AND- Four (4) or more years of supervisory/management experience
• Valid Florida driver's license at the time of hire
Preferred Qualifications:
• Knowledge of current principles and practices relating to utility operations and maintenance
• Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local policies and regulations related to wastewater and stormwater management
• Knowledge of the health and safety hazards and precautions associated with the work performed in the section
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
Subject to Passing Substance Screening: This position is subject to passing a pre-employment substance screening. An applicant who fails to pass a required drug screening test shall be disqualified from employment for a period of five (5) years
About Everything Else
Starting Pay Range: $95,000.00 - $112,000.00/ annually , based on your experience
