American Crane & Equipment Corporation (ACECO) is seeking Student Co-op/Manufacturing Intern candidates to join our team and gain hands-on experience working alongside skilled trades professionals. This opportunity is designed for students enrolled in an approved high school cooperative education (co-op) program who want to develop practical skills in a professional manufacturing environment.
As a Student Co-op/Intern at American Crane, you will support various manufacturing departments while learning the fundamentals of industrial equipment production, safety practices, and teamwork in a fast-paced shop environment.

What You’ll Do
Student Co-op team members may support multiple areas of the manufacturing operation depending on business needs and training progress.
Electrical Support
• Assist with wiring and installation of electrical systems on industrial equipment
• Support electrical technicians during assembly and testing processes
Mechanical Assembly
• Assist with installation, assembly, and adjustment of mechanical components
• Support assembly teams with equipment preparation and installation tasks
Machining
• Assist machinists with shop support activities
• Gain exposure to machining processes including mills, lathes, and CNC equipment
Industrial Painting
• Assist with preparation of structural steel and equipment for painting
• Support sanding, masking, cleaning, and finishing processes
General Manufacturing Support
• Assist with shop organization, material handling, and production preparation tasks
• Follow all safety procedures and shop guidelines while supporting production teams
What We’re Looking For
Education
• Currently enrolled in a high school vocational, technical, or cooperative education program
Eligibility
• Must be actively enrolled in an approved school co-op program
• Must be authorized by the school to work during scheduled school hours as part of the co-op program
Experience
• No prior professional experience required
• Coursework or exposure to manufacturing, machining, electrical, or mechanical systems preferred

• Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a team environment
REQUIREMENTS
• Must be 16 years of age or older
• Must be enrolled in an approved school cooperative education program
• Must be authorized by the school to work during school hours as part of the co-op program
• Authorization to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship
• Ability to verify identity and employment authorization (Form I-9)
• Ability to meet the posted work schedule based on school program requirements
• Ability to maintain reliable attendance and punctuality
• Willingness to follow all company safety policies and procedures
• Willingness to wear required PPE when working in shop or manufacturing areas
• Willingness to complete required safety and compliance training
• Ability to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation
Work Environment & Physical Demands
• Manufacturing shop environment with exposure to industrial equipment and fabrication activities
• Standing and walking for extended periods during the workday
• Ability to lift and move materials as required by assigned tasks
• Exposure to noise, moving equipment, and industrial processes
• Required use of appropriate PPE in all manufacturing areas
