Job Description Full-time Job Announcement
Position: Health Information Management Technology Program Chair
Location: Athens Campus
Department: Division of Life Sciences & Public Safety
Reports to: Divisional Academic Dean
Salary/Benefits: Salary is commensurate with education and experience. State of Georgia benefits package.

Responsibilities:
• Using appropriate teaching, testing, and grading techniques.
• Using effective written and oral communication skills, testing, and grading techniques.
• Demonstrating current knowledge of health information management technology process, procedures, regulations, and information technology applications.
• Demonstrating knowledge of CAHIIM standards, and aligning course competencies and student learning outcomes of HIMT courses with CAHIIM domains.
• Assist with student recruitment, retention, advisement and placement, and administrative duties related to advisory committee.
• Other program clerical support duties as assigned.
• Teaching on satellite campus location as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills & Requirements Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management Technology or related field.
• Must be certified as a Registered Health Information Administrator or Registered Health Information Technician.
• Two (2) to five (5) years of professional experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge of ICD10-CM/PC, CPT-4, and HCPCS.
• Have knowledge of establishment and evaluation of student learning outcomes.
• Display strong written and oral skills.
• Knowledgeable of the Revenue Cycle Management Process.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Master’s degree.
• Experience with 3M coding software.
• Experience with BlackBoard learning management system and online instruction.
