Data Center Technician
The Panther Group is seeking an experienced Data Center Technician to support a fast-paced and growing data center environment. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on technician with strong cabling and hardware installation experience who enjoys working with cutting-edge IT infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
• Install, rack, and configure servers, switches, and other IT hardware within data center environments
• Perform structured cabling, including Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6a, and fiber optic installations
• Terminate cables and maintain distribution frames following industry standards
• Read and interpret build documents, schematics, and cable routing diagrams
• Conduct system installation, configuration, testing, and basic troubleshooting
• Maintain accurate documentation of installations and system changes
• Ensure compliance with ESD standards, safety protocols, and quality requirements
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Collaborate with team members and provide support or guidance to junior technicians as needed
Required Qualifications
• 3+ years of experience in data center cabling and rack/stack environments
• Strong knowledge of structured cabling standards and best practices
• Experience working with fiber and copper cabling and testing equipment
• Ability to read and interpret technical documentation and schematics
• Hands-on experience with server and network hardware installation
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks
• Basic computer skills for documentation and data entry
• Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
Preferred Qualifications
• BICSI certification or similar industry credentials
• Experience troubleshooting data center hardware and connectivity issues
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
• Warehouse/data center environment
• Ability to work on your feet for extended periods
• Comfortable working with tools, cabling, and hardware installations
Pay up to $26.50 per hour W2 Depending on Experience
