Junior Mechanical Engineer
About Dynaflo
Dynaflo, Inc. is a family-owned company with over 25 years of success designing and manufacturing miniature diaphragm pump solutions for OEM customers in medical, laboratory, industrial, and agricultural markets. Our products are trusted globally for their precision, reliability, and performance, and we are proud of our open, collaborative, and innovation-driven culture.
As we expand our engineering and quality capabilities, we are looking for a hands-on Junior Mechanical Engineer to support our Principal Design Engineer and Lead Quality Engineer in advancing new product development, improving production processes, and ensuring continued compliance with ISO 9001 standards.
Position Overview
The Junior Mechanical Engineer plays a key role in bridging product design and quality assurance activities. This position is ideal for a motivated engineer with 2+ years of experience who enjoys variety in their work - ranging from CAD design updates to hands-on testing and continuous improvement projects.
You will collaborate closely with the design, production, and quality teams to ensure our pumps meet the highest standards of performance and manufacturability, while supporting the launch of new and improved product lines.
Key Responsibilities
• Support the Principal Design Engineer in product design updates, prototype development, and testing.
• Create and revise 3D models and 2D drawings using Creo Parametric (or equivalent CAD tools).
• Design and fabricate assembly fixtures, jigs, and test setups for production and R&D applications.
• Assist in product validation and life-cycle testing for diaphragm pumps and components.
• Support the Quality Engineer in process documentation, calibration, and compliance audits.
• Update and maintain work instructions, inspection procedures, and calibration records.
• Analyze test and inspection data to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Participate in root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
• Collaborate cross-functionally with manufacturing, supply chain, and operations.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of hands-on engineering experience (preferably in manufacturing or product development).
• Proficiency with CAD tools (Creo preferred; SolidWorks or similar acceptable).
• Experience with engineering documentation, drawings, GD&T, and tolerance stack-ups.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to work with tools and prototypes.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality systems or regulated manufacturing environments a plus.
• Basic understanding of measurement systems, test equipment, and calibration desirable.
• Proactive, detail-oriented, and eager to learn in a team-based environment.
Why Join Dynaflo
• Be part of a growing and innovative engineering team shaping next-generation miniature pump solutions.
• Hands-on exposure to both R&D and quality engineering disciplines.
• Open and collaborative culture with mentorship from senior engineers and leadership.
• Competitive salary and benefits, including medical, 401(k), and paid time off.
• Career growth opportunities in design, quality, or product management.
Schedule
• Full-time, Monday to Friday (on-site).
• Occasional flexibility for remote documentation or CAD work.
