What We Look For In a Differential Equations Tutor
• Advanced Subject Mastery: Deep knowledge of first-order equations (separable, linear, exact, Bernoulli), second-order linear equations, systems of differential equations, Laplace transforms, series solutions, and numerical methods. • Curriculum Awareness & Adaptive Instruction: Familiar with differential equations curricula and common struggles including determining equation type, applying integrating factors, and interpreting phase portraits. Adapts instruction using direction fields, software visualization tools, and engineering-context problems to support advanced mathematics and STEM majors.
• Effective Teaching Methods: Ability to identify concepts students commonly struggle with, explain material using multiple approaches, and adapt instruction to meet individual learning needs and styles.
• Strong communication skills and a friendly, engaging teaching style.
• Ability to adapt to different learning styles and student needs.
