Director of Clinical Risk Management
A client of AlphaStaffHCM™ is seeking a Director of Clinical Risk Management for a growing senior living management company to oversee compliance, safety initiatives, and clinical risk mitigation across multiple assisted living communities. This role combines clinical expertise with regulatory oversight and operational collaboration. You will work closely with operations leadership and clinical leadership to identify risk, investigate incidents, support regulatory readiness, and strengthen safety practices across communities.
Location : North Georgia (field-based role). Candidates can be based in the Greater Atlanta, Gwinnett, Gainesville, or Athens areas, with occasional visits to the Canton home office (typically two to 4 times per month).
Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To
• Monitor regulatory requirements affecting assisted living communities and support leadership teams with compliance readiness, audits, inspections, and follow-up action plans.
• Maintain oversight of OSHA reporting, workers’ compensation matters, compliance documentation, and related recordkeeping.
• Review, investigate, and document incidents involving resident or community safety, including falls, medication errors, elopements, and other adverse events, while identifying trends and recommending corrective actions to reduce recurrence.
• Conduct on-site risk assessments and partner with community and clinical leadership to address safety concerns, strengthen compliance practices, and support operational improvement.
• Provide guidance to nursing leaders, resident care staff, and other stakeholders on risk-related issues, reporting expectations, and appropriate follow-up.
• Coordinate records requests and support responses related to claims, litigation, regulatory reviews, and other legal or insurance matters.
• Shop and manage the company’s commercial insurance coverage by coordinating with brokers and carriers, reviewing claims data, and supporting policy renewals and coverage evaluations.
• Assist with insurance reporting, claims tracking, and renewal support by organizing data, documentation, and related risk information.
• Prepare internal reports for leadership and ownership groups on compliance, incidents, and risk-related activity.
• Oversee the use of incident reporting and risk tracking systems, support user adoption and training, and monitor data for issues requiring escalation.
Environment
• This role includes significant travel between communities throughout North Georgia.
• Most weeks involve time in the field visiting communities as well as collaboration with the home office team.
• Standard schedule is Monday through Friday with occasional extended hours during investigations or urgent compliance matters.
Qualifications
• Active Georgia nursing license (RN or LPN)
• Experience in assisted living, senior living, skilled nursing, or long-term care
• Background in risk management, compliance, clinical leadership, or regulatory oversight
• Familiarity with state survey processes and incident investigations
• Ability to interpret regulatory requirements and translate them into operational practices
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Experience working with multiple communities or regional oversight preferred
• Experience with incident reporting or healthcare compliance systems preferred
Compensation And Benefits
• Base salary approximately $120,000 – $140,000 depending on experience
• Bonus opportunity up to 20% based on performance metrics
• Medical insurance provided/paid by the employer for the employee
• Mileage reimbursement and cell phone reimbursement
