DESCRIPTION OF WORK As the Chief of Psychiatry, you will direct the planning, coordination, and integration of all psychiatric services to ensure comprehensive consumer treatment. This leadership role involves establishing clinical policies, assigning psychiatric staff across consumer areas, and supervising professional personnel through performance evaluations and recruitment. You will provide direct clinical guidance, identify staff training needs, and demonstrate advanced treatment techniques to maintain high standards of care. Additionally, you will collaborate with medical staff, families, and external agencies regarding consumer prognosis and discharge planning. This position requires active participation in hospital administrative committees and representation of the facility on statewide committees. Furthermore, you will serve as an expert psychiatric witness in legal proceedings and conduct regular audits of medical records to ensure full compliance with all regulatory and reviewing agency standards.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
• Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
• Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
• Overtime and travel as operationally necessary
• Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
• Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
• One year as a Psychiatrist Supervisor (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration) ; or
• Two years of experience in psychiatry or child psychiatry, including one year in a supervisory, administrative, or consultative capacity; and completion of a residency or training program in psychiatry which meets the certification requirements of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology or the American Osteopathic Board of Neurology and Psychiatry.
Special Requirement: • You must be in possession of a license to practice medicine in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as issued by the State Board of Medical Education and Licensure, or the State Board of Osteopathic Examiners.
Other Requirements: • PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
• You must be able to perform essential job functions.
