Clinical Education Coordinator
JOB SUMMARY : The Clinical Education Coordinator collaborates across all agency locations to promote the delivery of safe, high-quality hospice care in alignment with the organization’s mission, values, and regulatory requirements. As a Registered Nurse, this role ensures clinical staff are effectively onboarded, supported, and continuously developed through structured education and training programs.
This position partners closely with the Quality and Compliance team and hospice leadership to strengthen clinical practice, support regulatory readiness, and enhance staff competency and confidence. The Coordinator assesses educational needs, designs and implements training initiatives, and evaluates program effectiveness for both clinical and non-clinical personnel, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and quality outcomes.
REPORTS TO : Director of Compliance
QUALIFICATIONS
• Associate degree in Nursing required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Current, active Registered Nurse license in applicable state(s); compact license preferred
• Minimum of two (2) years of hospice or related healthcare experience preferred
• Current CPR certification for Healthcare Providers
• Demonstrated proficiency in EMR systems and healthcare technology
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage diverse team members across roles and disciplines
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and proof of insurance per company policy
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

• Occasional lifting of up to 10 pounds; frequent light physical activity
• Prolonged periods of sitting, with intermittent standing, walking, bending, and kneeling
• Frequent use of computers and electronic documentation systems
• Regular communication via phone, virtual platforms, and in-person interactions
• Travel by car required across service areas
WORK ENVIRONMENT
• Work is performed in both office and field settings, including patient care environments
• Regular travel within the service area; occasional travel outside assigned regions may be required
• May include participation in on-call rotation, including evenings and weekends
• Exposure to emotionally sensitive situations related to end-of-life care
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS / HAZARD RISK
• Occasional exposure to bloodborne pathogens and infectious materials
• Exposure to medical waste and hazardous materials
• Frequent exposure to unpleasant odors associated with patient care
• Potential exposure to latex and materials used in personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Occasional exposure to variable environmental conditions (temperature, humidity)
• Exposure to infectious diseases inherent in healthcare settings
RESPONSIBILITIES – CLINICAL COMPETENCY & EDUCATION
• Assesses educational needs of clinical and non-clinical staff through interviews, audits, surveys, and performance data
• Develops measurable learning objectives and training plans based on identified needs
• Designs and delivers education programs utilizing evidence-based practices and adult learning principles
• Develops training materials, including curriculum, presentations, and competency validation tools
• Leads new employee orientation and EMR training programs
• Coordinates and delivers mandatory education, annual competencies, and skills validations
• Selects, trains, and evaluates clinical preceptors
• Continuously evaluates and improves education programs to ensure effectiveness and alignment with quality goals
• Maintains accurate training records and attendance documentation
• Supports regulatory training initiatives and survey preparedness activities
• Participates in departmental planning for organizational education strategies
• Serves as an education resource across all agency locations
• Participates in committees to support clinical practice improvement and identify educational needs
• Assists in policy development and revision as needed
• Participates in quality audits and compliance activities
