Manager, Human Resources
The HR Manager is an employee-facing role, reporting dually to corporate HR leadership and the site General Manager. This role is responsible for all HR functions at the assigned site(s) and partners with the site management team to maintain positive employee relations, promote a positive company culture, ensure compliance with regulatory standards and company policies, and achieve staffing and training/development objectives for the site. The role also partners with the site management team to drive accountability, support development plans for succession, and support change management initiatives. The role supervises one or more HR Assistants, Coordinators, or other administrative personnel.
Essential Functions

• Develops and maintains effective relationships with General Managers and other Leaders at assigned site(s)
• Coaches supervisors, managers, and other employees on handling employee issues, addressing and de-escalating conflict, and communicating with others; creates, reviews, and approves disciplinary action and other employee documentation
• Utilizes effective influencing skills and confidently and professionally addresses issues with employees and leaders to document employee performance and behavior issues appropriately, and to drive compliance, consistency, and continuous improvement
• Responsible for HR compliance and reporting, including ITAR/EAR, DOT (if applicable), EEO/AAP, OSHA, and other regulatory obligations applicable to the work location
• Conducts effective internal investigations per established protocol; escalates issues and includes additional personnel as appropriate
• Responsible for managing employee life-cycle events including performance management, merit, bonus, and succession planning for the site in compliance with established policies, procedures, and state, local & federal regulations
• Oversees Talent Acquisition; creates and revises job descriptions & job posting templates; conducts phone screens and interviews; schedules interviews and may train interviewers; efficiently and accurately documents candidate activity in the HRIS/ATS system; maintains relationships with staffing agencies
• Coordinates employee training & development activities; may prepare and/or deliver training and manage LMS reporting and administration for the site
• Oversees safety program administration, including monitoring of safety committee activities, management of injury reporting and workers’ compensation claims, as well as limited duty work assignments and claim litigation
• Appropriately responds to employee inquiries by providing basic information, forms, and instructions or by referring & escalating issues as necessary; maintains a high degree of confidentiality and discretion regarding confidential information
• Oversees planning and execution of Company Events, including holiday observations, safety training, open enrollment, and other company meetings; may manage a local employee activity committee
• Prepares reports and updates metric tracking as required; responsible for the preparation of annual compliance reporting (EEO, VETS, AAP) for the site
• Sets an example for integrity, communication, and compliance for others in the organization by following policies, communicating professionally, and providing timely responses to internal customers
• May onboard, train, and mentor new HR staff at alternate sites, and may lead multi-site projects or lead/champion HR specialties/focus areas across sites
• Manages HR Assistants, Coordinators, Interns, and/or Front Desk Personnel
• Performs other duties as requested
• Regular attendance on-site at the workplace is required
Role
This role is identified as requiring ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) compliance; therefore, qualified candidates must meet the definition of a U.S. Person (per EAR Part 772 and ITAR 120.15):
• An individual who is granted U.S. citizenship, or
• An individual who is granted U.S. permanent residence (i.e., a "Green Card" holder), or
• An individual who is granted status as a "protected person"
Required Education And Work Experience
• A bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Management, or similar is required; significant coursework in HR is expected
• PHR or SHRM-CP certification is required and must be maintained through professional development & continuing education
• A minimum of five (5) years of experience in HR and demonstrating a progression of responsibility; experience in manufacturing is required
• A minimum of two (2) years of full-cycle recruiting experience is required; experience in filling both hourly production roles and professional positions is required
Other Required Skills And Abilities
• Experience utilizing a comprehensive HRIS/ATS system
• Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities to handle unexpected challenges appropriately
• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality, securing employee and company records, and demonstrating integrity in communications and actions
• Self-management skills, including efficiency, sense of urgency, ability to adapt and respond to unexpected circumstances, and ability to juggle multiple projects, competing priorities, and meet concurrent deadlines
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills (English)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and HRIS systems
Physical Demands and Work Environment
The typical work environment is an office setting; occasionally, the employee may be required to visit manufacturing areas where exposure to loud noises, fumes/odors, and hazards associated with moving equipment may occur. The use of PPE, including hearing protection, eye and hand protection, and safety footwear may be required.
Occasional travel may be required, and some overnight travel may be required. A valid Driver’s License and an acceptable driving record are required.
