Join our dynamic team as a Pipe Welder/Fitter and take on a vital role in fabricating, installing, and maintaining piping systems across diverse construction and manufacturing projects. We work mostly with stainless steel pipe in plants. Being proficient in Tig welding is a must. The position requires a skilled tradesperson who thrives in fast-paced environments, possesses a keen eye for detail, and is passionate about delivering high-quality craftsmanship. You will be responsible for interpreting blueprints, performing precise welding and fitting tasks, and ensuring all piping assemblies meet industry standards and safety regulations. Read and interpret detailed schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings to guide pipe fabrication and installation processes. Perform various welding techniques including MIG (Metal Inert Gas), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), and welding to join pipes securely and accurately. Fit, assemble, and install piping systems using hand tools, power tools, pipe threading machines, calipers, and other mechanical tools. Conduct pipe bending, soldering, tube bending, and rigging tasks to ensure precise fitting within complex layouts. Use schematics to troubleshoot issues during installation or maintenance work on pipelines or HVAC systems. Maintain strict adherence to ASME codes & standards for pressure vessels, pipelines, and related equipment. Support construction site activities by performing pipe threading, assembly, maintenance work, and ensuring compliance with safety protocols. Assist with calibration of measuring instruments like calipers and perform basic math calculations for measurements and material estimations. Collaborate with team members on rigging operations and coordinate tasks to optimize workflow efficiency. Ensure all work complies with safety regulations related to fire sprinkler fitting, plumbing, HVAC systems, or pipeline installation. Proven experience in pipe welding using MIG, FCAW, TIG welding techniques; experience with welding preferred. Strong knowledge of blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and mechanical systems understanding. Skilled in the use of hand tools such as wrenches, pipe cutters, soldering irons; power tools including grinders and drills. Ability to perform pipe threading accurately and efficiently; experience with tube bending is a plus. Familiarity with ASME codes & standards applicable to piping systems; knowledge of HVAC or plumbing codes is advantageous. Construction site experience demonstrating ability to work safely in active environments while maintaining quality standards. Basic math skills for measurements and calculations; experience reading calipers essential. Ability to perform welding tasks in various positions while adhering to safety protocols. Mechanical aptitude with knowledge of rigging techniques for lifting heavy pipes or equipment. Strong communication skills with the ability to read technical schematics and follow detailed instructions effectively.
