Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Part-Time Assistant Teacher to join our vibrant early childhood education team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to support classroom activities and foster a nurturing learning environment during afternoon hours from 2:30 pm to 6:30 pm. The assistant teacher will work closely with lead teachers to implement engaging lesson plans, manage classroom behavior, and support the developmental needs of young children. Ideal candidates will be passionate about early childhood education, possess strong communication skills, and have experience working with children with diverse needs, including those with disabilities or autism. Responsibilities Assist lead teachers in planning and executing daily lesson plans focused on literacy, math, and overall curriculum development tailored for preschool or daycare settings Support classroom management by maintaining a positive, inclusive environment that encourages children’s social and emotional development Engage children in age-appropriate activities that promote early childhood development, including toddler care and Montessori-based approaches Help supervise children during indoor and outdoor play, ensuring safety and proper behavior management Provide individualized support to children with special needs or disabilities, including those with autism, fostering their participation and growth Assist in maintaining classroom organization, including educational materials, toys, and learning resources Communicate effectively with parents and team members about children’s progress and any behavioral or developmental concerns Experience Prior experience working in early childhood education settings such as daycare centers, preschools, or private schools Knowledge of childhood development principles and best practices in classroom management Experience working with children with special needs or disabilities is highly desirable Familiarity with curriculum development for preschool or Montessori programs Hands-on experience in literacy education, math activities, behavior management, and working with individuals with autism or other developmental differences Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, and children Classroom experience involving toddlers or preschool-aged children is preferred Join us in creating a joyful learning environment where young minds thrive!
