Job Summary Respiratory Specialists is seeking an organized and compassionate Medical Scheduler to join our Pulmonary, Sleep and Asthma healthcare team. In this important position, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients seeking appointments and service coordination, ensuring their needs are accurately assessed and scheduled in a timely manner. Your friendly, detail‑oriented approach will help patients navigate their care efficiently while upholding high standards of customer service, confidentiality, and compliance with healthcare regulations. This role offers an exciting opportunity to support patient care in a fast‑paced environment by helping ensure seamless access to medical services. Duties Schedules appointments in Medent appropriately for patients by phone when they call in to match physician availability with patient’s preferences in terms of date and time. Maintains scheduling system so records are accurate and complete and can be used to analyze patient/staffing patterns. Responsible for maintaining assigned Providers schedules. Communicates as needed with Providers and other staff about any patient concern/issues related to scheduling. Uses customer service principles and techniques to deal with patients calmly and pleasantly. Promptly and professionally answer telephone calls. Routes calls appropriately, offering voice mail, or redirection of calls as needed. Participation in scheduled staff in-services. Performs other duties as assigned. Full-Time 40 hours per week, overtime as needed and approved by Management Qualifications EDUCATION High school diploma EXPERIENCE Minimum two years' experience in customer service or reception. Appointment scheduling Experience preferred preferably in a health care environment. Experience with Medent PM/EMR software a plus.
