Job Overview
Sigma Systems is currently hiring an Active Ingredient Technician in Athens, GA for a 12-month contract opportunity. This position plays a critical role in the preparation of vaccine components within an aseptic clean room environment. Candidates with laboratory, biologics, pharmaceutical, or manufacturing experience are strongly encouraged to apply.
This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with clean room experience, aseptic techniques, virus/cell culture exposure, or biotech manufacturing background looking to grow in the pharmaceutical and life sciences industry.
Schedule

Shift: 4:00 AM – 2:30 PM

Overtime: As needed

Weekend & Holiday Work: Required as business demands
Rabies vaccine required
Key Responsibilities

Perform preparation of vaccine components in an aseptic clean room environment

Utilize virus and cell culture techniques in compliance with USDA regulations

Follow and ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

Complete and review in-process documentation for accuracy and regulatory compliance

Maintain technical data and production support documentation

Participate in root cause analysis, deviation investigations, and corrective/preventative actions (CAPA)

Support deviation and change control management processes

Troubleshoot basic equipment and automation issues

Demonstrate strong commitment to EHS (Environmental, Health & Safety) programs

Support continuous improvement initiatives (Lean Manufacturing / AAI)

Assist in training and coaching new employees

Collaborate cross-functionally to resolve production flow disturbances
Qualifications Required:

High School Diploma or equivalent

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Ability to work in a team-oriented environment

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Basic math skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database systems

Demonstrated problem-solving ability
Preferred:

Bachelor’s degree in Biology or related field

1+ year of laboratory, pharmaceutical, biotech, or manufacturing experience

Experience in clean room and aseptic techniques

Basic understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles

Equipment/automation troubleshooting experience
